About GIS Lab
Remote Sensing (RS) and Geographical Information System (GIS) technologies have
become an inevitable part of physical planning and its related fields. These technologies
have emerged as powerful tools with a potential to handle complex spatial environment
by catering to the growing demands of the modern world. These increased demands
call for a coordinated application of RS and GIS for a sustainable development and
management of urban areas.
RS and GIS are an integral part of the syllabus, both for the students of Planning
and Architecture. As a part of the course contents, the students are required to
learn various related aspects of the subject such as software with hands-on practice
to undertake academic projects.
