GIS Laboratory

About GIS Lab
Remote Sensing (RS) and Geographical Information System (GIS) technologies have become an inevitable part of physical planning and its related fields. These technologies have emerged as powerful tools with a potential to handle complex spatial environment by catering to the growing demands of the modern world. These increased demands call for a coordinated application of RS and GIS for a sustainable development and management of urban areas.

At SPA Bhopal, RS and GIS are integral components of the curriculum for students of Planning and Architecture. The GIS laboratory provides hands-on training in geospatial software and analytical techniques as part of coursework, studio exercises, and academic projects enabling students to develop practical competencies in spatial data processing, thematic mapping, spatial modelling, and site suitability analysis. The Lab also extends technical support to faculty research and consultancy projects.
